I get asked a lot what my workout routine looks like in any given week. Most times you’ll see me post pics on my Instagram from a hike or maybe you’ve seen paparazzi pics of me coming out of yoga or spin class. Whatever it is, I always feel amazing when I’m done.
So, in a normal week I mostly do yoga which is typically an hour long class. Sometimes I like to go hiking or head to Soul Cycle for spin class and that’s it! I mix it up, usually doing something 5-6 days a week, but really, I just do it when I can.
The thing that keeps it interesting for me is I don’t always have ‘normal’ weeks. When I am traveling, I like to walk. I can walk and walk and walk for miles. Sometimes, I will use the gym in my hotel but if I am in a big city like NYC, I just walk. The time flies by because there is always something exciting going on around me and before you know it, I’ve covered five miles.
But here’s the funny thing, and I’m going to let you in on a little secret, when I travel for QVC, which I am doing this Thursday, September 17th, I don’t work out at all. It just doesn’t fit into the schedule and that’s okay. You can’t put too much pressure on fitting your workout in all the time because sometimes it just can’t happen and you should be okay with that.
My one piece of advice though is finding more than one form of exercise that you love to do and then mixing it up. One day do the pilates, and then the next day you play tennis. Maybe you can even incorporate a Friday night salsa dancing class with your girlfriends! You gotta keep it fresh to keep yourself interested.
And there you have it! Do what you enjoy, do it as often as you can and be proud of your accomplishments!
I agree. Walking is the most convenient – especially when you’re not home. I do swimming, hula-hooping, biking, belly-dancing and/or rowing along with my daily stretching routines so I don’t get bored.
Loved this. What is your diet like? Can you share?
I wish I could find something I liked and stick with it. I lost about 25 pounds 2 years ago and felt great. I slowly put it back on and now I have fallen into a rut. I can’t seem to get back on track. I really find you inspiring! Thanks <3
Sounds like great advice.
I’m interested too in knowing what your food choices are.
Lisa, I really think you should create some athletic wear.
I am always looking for new styles in my athletic wear.
And I love your designs with QVC.
Yes please share what your diet is like. I’m 5′ and would love to know what kind of eating, and how much, makes you (a shorty as well) look so wonderful!
Hi Lisa! I love you on QVC !! So entertaining and lively!! Wish I had half of your energy or better yet if you could bottle it somehow….how fab!!!
I am interested on the foods you stay away from, and your typical day of meals as well as when you dine at restaurants. What is best to order. I am a great fan of your clothing from QVC as well.
